macOS is great at most things. But every Mac user has a short list of small things it just doesn't do: show what is eating your disk, keep a setting the way you like it, put the one number you care about in the menu bar.
Qiffe makes small apps for that list. Each one does a single job, stays out of your way until you need it, and is built natively for macOS.
How we build
- One job per app. If an app needs a manual, it does too much.
- Native and light. Built for macOS, small downloads, low memory.
- Honest pricing. Try before you pay; one-time purchases where we can.
- Honest guides. Our guides show the built-in way first, and only point to an app when it really saves you time.
Who makes Qiffe
Qiffe is a small, independent studio that makes Mac utilities: SweepBar, Doff and Mulligan. We design, build and support every app ourselves, and we write every guide on this site. When you email us, the people who build the apps answer.
How we test what we write
Every guide says at the top which macOS version it was tested on, and when. Our test Mac is a MacBook Air with Apple M2, running macOS 27.0.1, the current release when the guides were written. We follow each step on that Mac and use Apple's exact menu and button labels, not ones remembered from an older macOS.
Leftover files
The "uninstall" guides list what an app leaves behind. To find it, we scan the Mac with the same read-only scanner that powers Doff, then check launch agents, launch daemons and the vendor's folders by hand, because a scanner can miss what an app shares with its siblings. Each page states the app version, where the app came from and the macOS version. Paths are written with ~ for your home folder, and we only describe a file when its location or the app's own documentation makes clear what it is. Folders shared with other apps are marked, so you don't remove something you still need.
Sizes
We don't publish file sizes measured on our own everyday Mac: they show how we used an app, not how you will, and a cache can be a few kilobytes on one Mac and gigabytes on another. So the uninstall guides list locations, not sizes. On your Mac, Doff shows the real size of every item before anything is removed.
How we keep guides current
When we test a guide again, we update the version and date at the top. When a step no longer works, we rewrite it rather than add a note under it. If something doesn't match what you see on your Mac, tell us and we'll test it again.
